Quick project
I think I really knew I was going to run out of yarn on the shrug (see below) and I'd just picked up the March 2008 issue of Crochet! so I decided to make the Ruffled Lace scarf. At least I'd be able to finish something.
Made from Interlacements Alabama yarn acquired at Stitches West 2002. It took about 235 yards.

Miscalculation - again
I really should know better and should do a better job of 1) calculating how much yarn a project will really take (as opposed to estimating) and 2) making sure I really have as much yarn as I think I do.
I started a shrug from VK Winter 1999/2000 by Giuliano Marelli out of stash yarn I picked up at the Braid Basket before it morphed into Knitting Arts in Saratoga, so it's been around for a while. The fronts and back are knit and I started the sleeves without the wrist "flair" thinking I'd do a 3/4 sleeve and possibly have enough yarn. Alas! it was not to be.
So here I am again, asking the internet community if someone can find a spare ball or two (I think one would do it, actually). The yarn is Katia Ceilan in color 85856.
UPDATE:Yarn found in just one day through KnitSwap Yahoo list!

Happy Heart Day!
I didn't have any Valentine's Day fabric, but I did have a dog fabric with hearts, so Tom got a new shirt for the day.
Elderflower skirt is mostly finished. The knitting is done, but my body is such that to fit my tummy, the waist ends up being a bit big. I need to sew in some elastic in the back so the skirt doesn't feel like it's going to fall off, which I'm sure would be entirely amusing to some, but no.

Looking for a house?
My mom's house is on the market in Sun City West, Arizona. If you're in the market or know someone who is, check it out.
That means, of course, that we did, in fact, convince her to move up to Oregon to be closer to us. It will be a big change for her, because she doesn't remember the ten winters spent in Denver, having been in Arizona for fifteen years.
